{"id":456,"date":"2022-11-09T02:38:32","date_gmt":"2022-11-09T02:38:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/overcomingmountains.com\/?p=456"},"modified":"2025-06-10T22:02:33","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T21:02:33","slug":"do-unto-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/overcomingmountains.com\/blog\/?p=456","title":{"rendered":"Do unto others"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c5af6e8d6918fe8cd026874d97d96f35 wp-block-paragraph\">In this day and age of inclusivity, diversity and equity does the old adage of \u2018Treat others as you want to be treated\u2019 still valid?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-bdb28115d33fc921f2419b89fc1755f7 wp-block-paragraph\">As a Christian I prefer to think of it as \u2018Do unto others as you would have done unto you\u2019 especially as it was Jesus who instructed us to \u2018Do to others as you would have them do to you\u2019 in Luke 6:31. But as with all scripture we need to look at this in context of the chapter it was in and the section in Luke that this appears in is to do with loving our enemies, doing good to those who hate us, turning the other cheek.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6a9089327f390a91db47daa8aa5b9f2d wp-block-paragraph\">So what happens when how you would like to be treated isn\u2019t how someone else would like to be treated? I personally try to apply by asking myself how would I like to be treated in a situation. And in most cases it\u2019s with care and consideration. So I make an effort to do this with everyone I come into contact with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3aa7346c4a9029ac0e03318d3f76fa99 wp-block-paragraph\">So what can you do when you encounter someone who may or may not have a chronic health condition or disability?
